Why Choose a Doctor-Owned Opioid Addiction Treatment Center?

Any form of addiction can be dangerous. However, opioid and heroin addictions continue to be some of the most severe and life-threatening substance use disorders a person can experience. The number of opioid-related drug overdoses has skyrocketed over the past few decades. In 2021, opioids were involved in 75.4% of all drug overdose deaths. That means those who misuse opioids are more likely than others to experience severe or fatal consequences from their substance use. The intensely addictive nature of opioids means that stopping their use can be quite an uphill battle.

A doctor-owned opioid addiction treatment center can give you the personalized attention you deserve. It’s also a safe space to turn to for managing the effects of withdrawals, both uncomfortable and dangerous, so you can start treatment in earnest. Trusting a medical professional with your life and safety can give you some much-needed peace of mind as you pursue recovery. You don’t have to go through the toughest parts alone – in fact, you can experience them in new and healing ways when you work with the right providers.

How We Help: Holistic Opioid Addiction Treatment

We know that opioid use disorders are among the most challenging forms of addiction to overcome. Beyond the intense physical dependence opioids can create, in the absence of drugs, many people struggle to manage the underlying pain that led to substance use in the first place. That’s why our opioid addiction treatment center offers varying levels of care – getting to the heart of the problem is essential. What that looks like for each person can vary. Each of our treatment programs is designed to meet different needs.

  • Partial Hospitalization – Partial hospitalization programs, or PHPs, offer intensive treatment for addiction and behavioral health issues. Notably, PHPs don’t require an overnight or extended stay at our opioid rehab center in Palos Verdes. While the PHP offers the same level of therapy one would receive in a residential program, it allows the clients the freedom to continue engaging in familial and working obligations.
  • Intensive OutpatientOur intensive outpatient program, or IOP, is generally recommended for clients with more moderate care needs. It requires more commitment than a traditional outpatient program, but clients are still free to live at home and participate in work, school, or other responsibilities.
  • Outpatient Outpatient care is designed to allow you to live at home and continue your daily life while simultaneously receiving the treatment necessary to help you overcome your addiction. Generally, clients will participate in therapy a few days a week for a set amount of hours each day according to their personalized treatment needs. Outpatient programs tend to last anywhere from three to twelve months but usually last longer than the average inpatient or intensive treatment program.
  • Medication-Assisted TreatmentOur medication-assisted treatment (MAT) program is carefully overseen by Dr. Matin Hemmat, a board-certified Addiction Medicine physician. MAT entails the use of FDA-approved medication in combination with substance abuse therapy, resulting in holistic, personalized healing in line with our clients’ unique care needs. This treatment option can help secure a client’s success as they work through the early stages of quitting opioid misuse.

What Sets Us Apart as a Palos Verdes Opioid Addiction Treatment Center

In addition to our quality, doctor-led treatment options, the Peninsula Health Center also offers long-term support for clients who need it. We know that the fight for recovery doesn’t end just because formal treatment has. Our ongoing treatment options can help you stay in touch with your goals and overcome challenges that life throws your way.

  • Aftercare Because battling addiction is a lifelong commitment, it’s often necessary for those in recovery to consistently work to maintain their sobriety and avoid relapse, even after undergoing treatment. Peninsula Health Center offers an aftercare program designed for our client’s individual needs and focused on helping them navigate the challenges of maintaining sobriety. Typically, aftercare programs include ongoing therapy, psychiatric care, and participation in community-based support groups. Clients may also find other elements of aftercare effective for their recovery, such as sober living communities, education assistance, and health monitoring.
  • Chronic Pain Management – Chronic pain is defined as persistent pain lasting more than 12 weeks despite medication and treatment. Because this pain is so persistent, it is often associated with a higher risk of substance abuse and addiction. Although a client may initially be legitimately prescribed medicines for pain management, they run a risk of developing an addiction and thus seeking self-medication for their pain. Our chronic pain management services help clients treat their symptoms without relapsing or increasing their chances of developing a substance use disorder.
