Understanding Addiction: Why Meth Drug Rehab Matters

The doctors at PHC’s meth drug rehab understand that it takes a village, and no one should go through addiction rehab alone. When you try to quit meth, withdrawal symptoms can hit in a few hours or a few days. It varies on the person, but some of the symptoms to watch for are:

  • Fatigue
  • Nightmares
  • Insomnia
  • Depression
  • Serious appetite
  • Unable to feel pleasure
  • Movements and thoughts are slowed

The risks of meth use and withdrawal can escalate to suicidal thoughts or behavior, so it’s important to get help through your journey. With the symptoms being so drastic, even potentially fatal, you may benefit from the help of a doctor at PHC.

Overcoming addiction should feel like an empowering, hopeful process; not like a grueling punishment. Place your trust in the doctors at PHC and expect positive results.

Medical professionals at PHC are there to provide you with a safe space for your meth rehab. They offer encouragement to help you in your healing. Their goal is to help you overcome your addiction while improving mental health and help you continue a healthy lifestyle after recovery.

Discover Doctor-Approved Meth Abuse Treatment

The medical professionals at PHC have many different meth abuse treatment methods in their toolbox. Two of the most effective options to help patients are medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and dual-diagnosis treatment.

Our MAT programs in Palos Verdes are supervised by our board-certified addiction medicine physician, Dr. Matin Hemmat. You’ll receive caring treatment that’s comprehensive throughout your meth rehab program.

MAT is a combination of substance abuse therapy and FDA-approved medications. The goal is to tackle addiction from different angles for a more personal touch.

The early days of giving up meth can be especially hard. MAT is incredibly useful to help reduce cravings and manage the symptoms of withdrawal. Our MAT programs for meth are personalized to focus on your needs. Two medications that have commonly helped are:

  • Buprenorphine-based treatments, such as Sublocade, Brixaldi, and suboxone. These reduce cravings and symptoms of withdrawal.
  • Naltrexone, including Vivitrol. This medication is non-addictive and prevents the sedative and euphoric effects of meth. It can also help reduce the risk of a relapse.

MAT has proven highly successful with substance abuse and withdrawal symptoms.

Many individuals who have a substance use disorder also have a mental health disorder. When a client has these co-occurring disorders, it is referred to as a dual diagnosis. PHC offers comprehensive dual diagnosis treatment to treat both substance abuse and mental health disorders concurrently.

Whether you need MAT or a dual-diagnosis treatment center in Southern California, you can trust PHC.

The medical professionals will help you through a program that starts with general detox. After detox, you can transition to other treatment options such as our various levels of outpatient programs.
