Finding the right treatment center for yourself or a loved one can be a difficult and anxiety provoking process. Our caring team of experienced admissions specialists welcomes your call and are here to help you and your family navigate this difficult decision. Your first call is a discovery process to learn if we are the best fit for you and your needs. We are happy to answer any questions you may have about our program and services. We also want to learn about you and why you are seeking treatment at this time to ensure that we can best suit your needs. Finally, we will make recommendations regarding next steps.

Financial Overview

We know that treatment can be a hefty financial burden and can impact your decision in choosing a treatment center. We are an out of network program that can work with your insurance company to obtain a quote of benefits. We can work with most PPO insurances to reduce your cost. Our admissions specialists will review this information with you and provide further clarity regarding your benefits so that you can make an informed decision regarding your treatment options.

Clinical Assessment

In order to ensure that we are the right program for you and your family, we will schedule an assessment with a licensed clinician at your convenience to learn a bit more about your needs and to inform the best treatment plan for you. With confirmation from our clinical team that we are the right program for you, we can proceed with scheduling your admission to Peninsula Health Center.

Admission

Our admissions specialists will work with you and your family to arrange your arrival and connect you with our team who can help you settle into the program and begin your journey to recovery.

We are an out of network provider PHP and IOP. Our ambulatory detox is in network with Tricare PPP.

Peninsula Health Center is a medically founded and owned outpatient program that truly understands that addiction is a medical issue that should be treated with the same respect as any other. Our team is passionate about aiding patients with co-occurring addiction, mood disorders, and trauma to find healing and recovery. We understand that every patient is unique and has struggled in many ways prior to becoming dependent; at PHC we are passionate about helping our patients get to the root causes and conditions of their struggles in order to find true healing and begin on a path of fulfillment and wellness.

We understand the difficulty of watching a loved one suffer with addiction and mental health concerns, particularly when they are not ready to seek help. We are always happy to help in whatever way we can. We are happy to consult with you and your family about what options are available to you as well as connect you with trusted partners who can help your family in other avenues to encourage your loved one to enter treatment. If your loved one is unwilling to enter treatment we can connect you with professionals who can support you and your family in walking through this period.

We understand that many individuals struggling with addiction and mental health concerns are familiar with the legal system. For patients with these concerns, resolving your legal issues will be a part of your treatment plan and we will not prevent our patients from meeting the requirements set by the court while in our care. We are also happy to communicate with your legal team and court officials on your behalf when necessary.

Should you be seeking medical leave from your employer our medical team can provide the necessary certification required. If this is your first request, you are not legally required to inform your employer as to the exact reason for your medical leave apart from that you will be under the continuous care of the medical facility.

If you choose to seek assistance through medical leave, your employer will know that you are under the care of a physician. However, you are not required to share the exact nature of your medical concern.

Hours of therapy are determined by the level of care our patients are participating in.

Peninsula Health Center is not a 12 step based or SMART Recovery program. Our program is rooted in evidence-based therapeutic practices and medical care in order to help our patients truly unearth the root causes of their addiction and mental health struggles. We do incorporate tenets of recovery based programming in some of our care and strongly encourage all of our patients to participate in recovery based programs. We understand that our patients are varied and their preferences are also varied. We encourage our patients to find the support that works for them so that they can find meaningful and lasting recovery whether that is through AA, SMART Recovery, or any recovery oriented model.

Our partial hospitalization program is a more intensive level of outpatient treatment. Patients in our PHP program will participate in treatment six hours a day Monday through Friday. At this level of care our patients will meet with their primary therapist twice weekly as well as weekly appointments with their doctor. Patients participating in our Intensive Outpatient Program will receive similar clinical programming; however, they will participate in treatment three hours a day Monday through Friday. At this level of care our patients are more suited for weekly individual sessions with their primary therapist and biweekly appointments with  their doctor so that they can begin returning to normalcy in career, education, or volunteer life while under the care of a supportive clinical setting to prepare them for life post treatment.

The length of detoxification varies from patient to patient depending on several factors including drugs of choice, frequency and longevity of use, age, and co-occurring medical concerns. Your individual detoxification will be discussed with your doctor as part of the initial medical intake and implementation of your medication protocols.

We don’t require more than a 30 day treatment cycle, that said we prefer our patients to complete 90 days of care for best outcomes and then continue with our alumni program to maintain relationships and support.

Patients in our PHP program will receive individual therapy on a twice weekly basis. Patients participating in our IOP program will receive weekly individual therapy.

Family’s will participate in family sessions, coaching, and/or check-ins depending on each individual patient’s family system, needs, and requests. We understand that family dynamics can be complicated; we at Peninsula Health Center are here to help each patient and family system we work with in whatever manner is best suited to them.

Our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Matin Hemmat supports our patients’ medication management for both addiction and psychiatric care.
