Melissa LaLande graduated from Tulsa University in 2009 with an undergrad degree in Psychology with a primary focus on trauma and abnormal psychology. Working as an undergrad in a graduate dream and nightmare lab, researching the connection between dreams and trauma, her major influencer became Carl Jung.
Melissa then received her CADAC-III in 2021, as her interest in substance abuse in relation to internal family systems and trauma became a primary focus. Melissa’s major influences are Carl Jung and Marsha Linehan, going through a 2 year DBT program herself in order to explore DBT and practice the principles and skills in order to best teach others. Melissa is deeply invested in addiction studies as well as continuing her learning and keeping up with new advancements in research in the area of trauma-focused care in relation to addiction.
